FREE engine! Yes it is true - Thanks Patrick!

As we all wondered what to do about the bad engine block, there is was a post on Houston Craigslist “FREE BMW motor…”

Holy crap, we called and got there as soon as we could to pick it up and it was a great motor. And we met Patrick a true BMW motor head that had done many restorations and hot rod BMWs. He was restoring a ‘67 1600 and the PO had put a 2.0 Liter in there and so what to do but give it to some lucky ass race team. And he was full of helpful knowledge and an alternator to boot!

We found got some cheap tires and rims!

No more running on those skinny tires and stock rims. Big tires - well too big so we need spacers and still have a bit of rubbbing, oh well that will wear off. Note St. Arnold beer we can be bought.

Finally getting some updates

Tore down the engine from last years race and found the source of the mystery noises. Spun bearing, knocking rod resulted in deep groove in the cylinder wall and piston. All had to go.

Home of Team Beermer

Here we go again!

The only way to start the Beermer site is to look back at DarthBimmer, we had a good time, met some great people and participated in a really awesome event. But with only 2 official laps completed left with a let down and a bit of a sour taste, and the resolve to be back stronger than ever. If you don’t know what I am talking about, click here for last years site.

Moving forward we are all very excited about Jay bringing the LeMons show back to Houston, getting the car back on the track and everyone getting some quality competitive laps in. And we have a great company that is our new sponsor St. Arnold Brewery that just happens to craft our favorite beer.

Check back often to see our progress on the car as we prepare to take on the other 95 “race” cars on February 28th.
